NO GAMES DELEGATION IN COPENHAGEN!

We may not be as photogenic as Oprah or as athletic as Pele or phlegmatic as Mayor Daley - but the No Games delegation of Martin Macias, Jr., Tom Tresser and Rhoda Whitehorse are in town, too!

We intend to deliver our message on behalf of the people of Chicago that we do not want the 2016 Olympics.

We got in town yesterday and spent the day getting our bearings and planning the work ahead. This is NOT a sightseeing trip and, like our trip to Lausanne, it's mostly about meeting the press, reaching out the IOC and its staff and updating the web site and communicating with you via this newsletter, Twitter and Facebook. We got about 5 hours sleep during the five days we were in Switzerland and this will be no different.

Wish us well. You can follow our progress on a special page we've created on our web site.

No Games Chicago is a diverse group of volunteers from all over Chicago who have worked on a wide variety of neighborhood projects, social justice and good government issues.

Our web site contains many resources for research and background on the impact of the Olympics on host cities. We have links to academic studies and articles from the local press of past host cities. Don't take our word that the Olympics bring disaster to host cities. Check it out for yourself.

I suggest you delete the "SafeUnsubscribe" link at the bottom. I clicked on it just to see if it worked, I did not hit "save changes".
